bent not broken is a three track EP, recently set free to the sonic airwaves! The EP consists of garden grow, father story and entirely open – recorded at Yarra Bend in Melbourne with producer Marc Scollo.

The EP explores the themes of resilience, friendship, family and remaining open hearted despite life’s many curve balls! In the way that a tree gentle bends over time to accommodate for the elements, we too are shaped by our circumstance. The over-arching message is of hope, connection and peace of mind.

Utilising the age-old tool of storytelling and weaved in with vivid imagery of nature, the three tracks are folk inspired with stripped back acoustic guitar and laid back vocals. With instrumentation from Marc Scollo (Slide Guitar, Bass Guitar) and Alex Siderov (Drums), international songstress, Sorcha Chisholm lends her soulful harmonies and melodic keys to the tracks.

The album imagery features three Tawny Frogmouths who found themselves in at the WIRES wildlife rescue organisation. The larger is a surrogate parent, looking after the two young rescues. They were all three released into the wild, perhaps a little bent, but not broken!

Meet Me In Zanzibar

Meet Me In Zanzibar is a collaboration between Australian artist Hilda Green and Tanzanians Bony Kitchaa and Maasai Blonde. The three artists co-write the song in 2022 during a visit to the annual Sauti Za Busara festival in Stone Town, Zanzibar.
